I was in Toronto this weekend for Anton D.’s bachelor’s party. Anton and his fiancée, Vinaya, went to NYU business school with Angela. It was a great time and I flew up Saturday morning and left on Sunday at noon. It was great meeting all of Anton’s friends and as you can tell in the pictures it was a great time!

It was well planned out by the two “Dave’s” as we had dinner at the Drake and then stayed there afterwards for drinks, pictures, and videos, of course. I even learned a new Canadian term….”Maritimer”. I understood this to be a derogatory term for those from Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, and Prince Edward Island. It’s always great to party internationally and learn new, exciting words. Other than that, I was pretty much able to keep up with the language.

Dave J. and Mike K. put on some extreme pressure for me to go out for some after-hours, but I knew it was going to be a rough flight home if I didn’t escape. I was able to somehow pull my own Merlin magician act and head down the street with Matt and Murray so that I could get home at a decent time.

Overall it was a great time and I think Anton had a blast. It’ll be great to meet up again with everyone later in June on Long Island where I can only imagine how much alcohol will be involved this time. Shots anyone?

P.S. – If you’re wondering what those extra pics are of me on the plane and at the hotel, I didn’t exactly make it out for any sightseeing, so these are weak “filler” pictures so that Angela can believe I did something besides go out for dinner and drinks. In reality, I was going to take a bus tour around Toronto Saturday afternoon (everyone else was playing paintball as I arrived a little late), but ultimately I ended up at a pub for some lunch and watched the Blue Jays/ Red Sox game and did some work on my laptop. Thank you.

Angela and I just got back from our honeymoon in Morocco today. We'll plan to get all the pics and videos up in June and here are two pics from the Officiant's site who married us...

This was my first time snorkeling and Angela was nice enough to take some pictures. This was at Trunk Bay on St. Johns.

Angela and I are getting married in May and we headed down to St. Thomas in the U.S. Virgin Islands to take care of some wedding items. As you can tell, we “FORCED” ourselves to go there ahead of time and even made a vacation out of it. Who would have guessed!? Most of these pics are at the Marriott Frenchman’s Resort.

Be on the lookout for newly uploaded videos and underwater snorkeling pics later this month, when I get off my ass and get them developed.

Pic 1 – Hanging out on Coco Joe’s for some breakfast after we landed last Thursday morning. The resort has four restaurants, so this is a relaxed décor
Pic 2 – Checking out Windows on the Harbor where the reception dinner will take place.
Pics 3 & 4 – Dinner later that night at Windows on the Harbor.
Pics 5 & 6 – After dinner we went next door to the Rum Bar. Rum is good.

Pic 9 – Getting in some snorkeling practice at the Marriott Beach.
Pics 10 – 13 – Angela and I headed into the capital of Charlotte Amalie and had dinner at Oceania. The food was almost as good as the grub I whip up in NY during the week. Right Angela?
Pics 14 – 21 – We took a 15 minute ferry ride to neighboring St. John’s Island. It offers great views of the British Virgin Islands. We had some breakfast there, took an island tour, and then finished up with some snorkeling at Trunk’s Bay.
Pics 22 – 24 – We took the ferry back to St. Thomas to the town of Red Hook. We stopped at “Get Licked” for some refreshments and got some help from the little guy in pic 24.
Pics 25 – 28 – Back at the Marriott relaxing and catching the sunset.
Pic 29 – 31 – It was Valentine’s Day and we walked to the beach for dinner at Havana Blue. Our reception will be here, so it was a good chance to taste-test the food. My new favorite dessert is Sweet Potato Cheesecake. Yum.

Pic 1 – After all the chatter in the “Shout it Out” box, I couldn’t resist putting Ryan’s hockey pic up on this award-winning website. Congratulations Ryan, you’ve finally made it! After years of playing pond hockey on the infamous Poplar Street Hill in Fleetwood, PA, Ryan now becomes the first of the regulars to finally play “organized hockey”.

It must be weird playing with real referees. “Patrolman Phillips! Two minutes in the penalty box for excessive use of a jelly-filled donut!”

Pic 2 – This submission is from Mike Tolen. I don’t remember if Mike ever stopped up to play hockey with us, but I’m sure he’ll let us know. This is Mike with Brett Michaels, the frontman for the 80’s mega-band of Poison. My favorite song was Every Rose has its Thorn, for the record. There looks to be a lot of man-pointing and finger angles, but I don’t know what any of it means.

Picture Tolen and Brett in a cage-match to the death. My money is on Tolen.

We hung out in Manhattan at a Brazilian restaurant to ring in the new year with "Vanton" (Vinaya and Anton).
